3 Great Tips to Speed up Your Recovery from Candida:

1. Put yourself first

If you want to look after your friends and family, you have to take care of yourself first.

Problem:

There’s always an infinite number of things you want to get done. Chances are once you’ve done everything you had to do, something new will pop up that just can’t wait… and when you eventually sit down, you’re probably too tired to do anything nice, let alone heal.

Solution:

If you make sure you get good food, plenty of rest and enough sleep, you’ll notice you still have energy for your friends and family.

This is especially true if you are quite ill at the beginning of your Candida journey, and in need of rest and early nights to get back on track.

The recuperative activities cannot wait until it’s convenient for you or until you have achieved enough. Your body needs rest in order to start healing!

2. Make decisions out of an abundance mindset

Problem:

When you make a decision based on fear (of missing out, of something bad happening, etc.), this tends to backfire, sabotaging your healing.

Example:

My boyfriend went away to Holland with some of his mates on a boys’ holiday. I felt lonely and envious, so I booked a trip to Hamburg to visit some of my friends. My only reason was that I also wanted to be away having fun. The trouble was that I wasn’t in a fit state to go away – I was exhausted, and despite having nice moments while away, the majority of it was one big upheaval that undermined my already low immune system.

Solution:

If you feel poorly, it’s time to remove ALL stress (even positive travel stress!) and pamper yourself until you feel on top of things again.

Once your energy reserves are restored, you can go out and do stuff. Mind, body and soul have to be in alignment – you can’t just have your mind running the show.

3. Don’t suffer in silence — Get Help!

Problem:

It’s not easy to share your problems with others. However, leaving underlying health issues untreated can trigger Candida flare-ups. That’s why it’s better to talk to people who have gone through the same process: they know the warning signs and will be able to nudge you in the right direction.

Example:

For the better part of the year I studied and worked relentlessly, pushing way past my limit. That caused Adrenal Fatigue: I had too little energy to respond to stress, but at the same time I was so revved up that I woke up every morning between 1:30am and 5:45am wide awake. I was caught in this destructive cycle for years.

Stress poisons your immune system and feeds Candida. In order to heal, you have to slow down!

I am so glad I finally addressed the underlying cause of my illness, Adrenal Fatigue, which had been making me susceptible to Candida infections.

When you are in a constant state of fatigue, how can your immune system possibly deal with systemic Candida effectively?
