Pineapple, Spinach & Coconut Smoothie

pineapple smoothieThis is a mighty refreshing smoothie with a hint of tropical flavors.

Not too sweet, just right, and the greens are well disguised ;-)

Serves: 1

Ingredients
  • ⅓ tin pineapple pieces (or fresh pineapple!)
  • 1-2 handful or spinach (I used frozen spinach)
  • ⅓ tsp chlorella and ⅓ tsp spirulina (or other green super food powder)
  • ½ can chilled coconut milk (better coconut milk frozen – I used an ice cube tray for this)
  • 4 ice cubes (take them out of the freezer a few minutes before you make the smoothie to thaw a little)
Instructions
  1. Add all the ingredients to your blender (coconut milk first then pine apple and spinach, followed by the super food powder and the ice cubes).
  2. Blend for a minute or until everything is mixed well and you are left with a thick, frothy smoothie.

If I didn’t have to watch the sugar in the pineapple because of my Candida related food sensitivities I’d enjoy this drink more often. It’s very good for your digestion generally.

Unfortunately it’s not suitable for the early stages of the Candida diet though. Click here if you’d like to see a 100% sugar free smoothie you could have instead.
