The 6 Best Candida Diet Resources on the Web

What were my criteria for selecting these 6 brands?

  • First I looked who came up on the first page of Google when I searched for ‘best Candida diets’.
  • Then I went through the bookmarks I had made years ago when I first started researching into this topic, and I looked if those companies were still around and if the sites looked active.
  • Finally I asked my readers who they thought should be included in this list.
  • That gave me a shortlist of 15 awesome Candida diet resources, brimming with health boosting info, success stories and tasty recipes.
  • I reached out to those 15 brands and asked for permission to list their info with photo here on the blog, and these were the awesome people who got back to me promptly.

Here’s what I asked the Candida Diet Experts:

  • In your opinion what is the most effective remedy to cure Candida overgrowth and why?
  • Can you give a fun or random fact about yourself, an inspiring quote or a one-liner of encouragement for my readers?

1. Dr. Sarah Myhill

www.doctormyhill.co.uk

I was incredibly impressed with Dr. Myhill’s website – it is a treasure trove of information about auto immune diseases, gut health & nutrition info right down to the cellular level. It is no wonder that she is fully booked out with clients for the next foreseeable future. She really knows her stuff! Thankfully she has made her knowledge accessible on her site, and she has written several books on important topics such as Chronic Fatigue, Sustainable Medicine and Diabetes where you can learn more.

I also found this interesting article on her site about a potentially useful Candida treatment called Lufenuron.

  • This is what she answered to my question what in her opinion was the most effective remedy to cure Candida overgrowth and why?
‘Treating any infection involves a two-pronged approach – yes kill the little wretches but as importantly starve them out. Perhaps the most important treatment for candida is a ketogenic diet. See this article on her site about the ketogenic diet.
  • Can you give a fun or random fact about yourself, an inspiring quote or a one-liner of encouragement for my readers?

‘I tell all my patients the cure is in the kitchen!’

2. Dr. Josh Axe

Dr. Josh Axe is a wellness physician, popular radio show host, and coveted national speaker committed to setting people free from their health problems so they can live their lives to their fullest potential. He is on a mission to change health around the world and lead the new health revolution. He has also written the following book you might find interesting: ‘Eat Dirt: Why Leaky Gut May Be the Root Cause of Your Health Problems and 5 Surprising Steps to Cure It’

His article ‘9 Signs that you have Candida and 3 Steps How to Cure Candida’ has a wealth of useful actionable information on treating Candida with help of natural remedies and a wholesome diet. I loved the mention of close oil and coconut oil to treat oral thrush for instance.

3. Dan Jackowiak HHP, NC

yeastinfectionadvisor.com

This is one of the very few websites that I referred back to again and again on my journey from Candida.

Dan explains this complex topic in simple terms yet manages to convey an extensive amount of medical research. I think if it hadn’t been for his detailed explanation about Candida biofilms and the underlying reasons for Candida overgrowth I would still be tapping in the dark  why recurring yeast infections are so hard to shake.

  • This is what he answered to my question what in his opinion was the most effective remedy to cure Candida overgrowth and why?

Dan suggested two products that he feels are the best for candida, you can learn about them at these two links

Biofase for yeast

Profase

  • Can you give a fun or random fact about yourself, an inspiring quote or a one-liner of encouragement for my readers?
“What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.”

4. Dr. Jeff McCombs, DC from his upcoming book “The New Candida Diet”

candidaplan.com

Dr. Jeffrey S. McCombs, DC, creator of Dr. McCombs’ Candida Plan explains what Candida is and that the Candida Plan is a successful tool to detoxify the body, neutralize fungal candida and re-establish the normal flora of the tissues.

I really liked the practical tips on his site for instance how to achieve 24hrs worth of kidney detoxing with 15 minute sweating in a sauna and how to recover after big festivities like Thanksgiving.

  • This is what he answered to my question what in his opinion was the most effective remedy to cure Candida overgrowth and why?

Fatty acids are the most effective and safest way to treat candida which I cover in more detail in this 8-part series on Candida Diets.

  • Can you give a fun or random fact about yourself, an inspiring quote or a one-liner of encouragement for my readers?

“To walk the path of health is to lead a life out of the ordinary, a truly ‘extra-ordinary’ life. When you accept the responsibility to live consciously, you stand out in the crowd.”

I tried about every Candida diet and treatment under the sun and hundreds of Candida sufferers have lost weight and got a new zest for life from following my low carb Candida Diet. So while that might not make me a Candida expert, it never the less gives me an abundance of insider Candida diet know how and recipes hacks, and as far as I know I’m one of the very few people who openly talks about what living with Candida is REALLY like!

  • What I believe is the most effective remedy to cure Candida overgrowth and why?

There’s no magic cure unfortunately. You need a systematic approach to kill any excess Candida while at the same time rebuilding the immune system and dealing with any underlying health issues. That said, in terms of natural Candida remedies oil of oregano is highly effective.

Keep an eye out for my next few blog posts to find out how you can win my ‘Candida Diet Survival Kitwith the most potent Candida fighting oil of oregano out on the market.

  • An inspiring quote I really like is: The meaning of F-E-A-R is not ‘Forget Everything And Run’ — it’s ‘Face Everything And Rise’!

  • Extended Form – CandidaMain
    1. Hello,
I rarely leave comments on sites but felt it was necessary this time. Have been searching for Candida treatments since my diagnosis of a chronic infection and came across much info. online. A lot of it confusing and conflicting. Upon visiting your site I went to Dr. Myhill’s site (listed above) and read about Lufenuron. It sounded promising so I marked it down. However, it didn’t take much research to find an article debunking it and low and behold, it’s on Dr. McCoombs site, who you also list above. So, as I said, lots of conflicting information out there that is confusing people and could be harming them. Please use caution in what you post. Thanks.

      • Hello Elaine,
thank you for your feedback. I can understand your concern. Not knowing what medication to take can be very confusing indeed, especially when there are new options on the market like the one in question that are controversial and might cause side effects. But that is the very reason why I believe we should be able to have a safe platform here where we can start a discussion about such new Candida treatments to shed light on them in order to be able to make a better judgement call. Dr Myhill is not actively promoting the use of this medication any way. She clearly pointed out that the medication is typically used in a veterinary context, and that there are limited clinical studies available with humans at this point. So until there is conclusive evidence one way or another it is best to stick with tried and tested Candida protocols of course, but it sure gives long-term Candida sufferers hope that there might be new treatment options on the horizon, and that there is still hope!
