Hiya, you can definitely eat avocadoes during your cleanse – they really help you to get through this hard time. Very nourishing and filling and easy on the digestive system.

Butter on the other hand is best avoided. Instead try a tiny amount of olive oil and a sprinkle of salt and pepper with your avocado if the hunger pangs get unbearable.

Here are 4 emergency tips for you:

      1. Sipping a hot cup of (yeast free) vegetable or chicken stock helps to keep you on track.
      2. Eat some steamed green vegetables
      3. If all else fails nibble a brown rice cake cracker or a small bowl of boiled brown rice.

But I think you won’t even need that. You’ll be feeling much better once you’ve eaten some avocado.
Stick with the Candida Cleanse – it will kickstart your health no end. Well done, go go go!

I’m starting the Candida Cleanse tomorrow… wish me luck! I’m only going to do it for three days though and then move on to Stage 2 as I’ve got really dizzy/faint when cleansing before. Seems like a good idea to have avocados on standby.

Awesome Rosalie, good move. Just take it slowly. I remember being faint, too, towards the end – I walked up hill like an old lady ? On the flipside I felt much more alert and cheerful. Fingers crossed you’ll feel the benefits of the Candida Cleanse, very soon, too. Let me know how it goes. Be well!

I was wondering for the detox could I just do warm water and lemon juice for a week?

      Hello Mary,
warm water and lemon juice is definitely a great detox drink. That said, I would not recommend having just this drink for a week. Simply because, despite the vitamin c boost, this drink would not provide you with all the essential minerals.

Especially if you are feeling a bit under the weather before you start the cleanse. Then your body really is in need of extra help.

But a hearty broth with vegetables, a mineral rich drink with spirulina for instance or a multi vit & mineral supplement always help your body detoxify. So perhaps you could add some of this to your warm water & lemon juice routine :-)

omg!!! i am starving! hi! i started the cleanse today after noticing the alarming rate i was taking in sugar! i don’t normally eat or drink alot of sweet things. definitely not candies a cakes. just not my thing but fruits and ice creams! whoa nelly!! this last week though my super healthy lemon and water turned to sugar water with a lemon flavor. glasses at a time. my coffee was needing 10 tsps of sugar! and pizzas? don;t wanna go there! so i realized something was out of whack. started the cleanse today. really don’t have a big appetite i am assuming because of the candida, but i am starving. thanksgiving is tomorrow. help! do you have more cleanse recipes? i know i have a severe case and probably don;t need a lot of food, just something. the soup is delicious by the way. please help me make it through tomorrow! sorry for babbling. just hungry.

Hey Aisha, it’s awesome that you are giving the candida cleanse a go.

It must be especially hard with Thanksgiving festivities going on… But it’s torture anyway – I was starving, too and felt extremely sad, irritable and hungover… It’s tough, but you’ll feel so much better once the yeast levels are down. If you are still starving now I’d suggest you stir fry some green veg, for instance kale with a bit of veggy stock or coconut oil.

Cabbage stirfried with a bit of water, salt and pepper, a dash of olive oil and sesame seeds works as a healthy hunger suppressant, too. Any vegetable soups are great, as long as you use yeast free stock and no cream. If all else fails eat a small bowl of cooked brown rice with a spoon of coconut oil and cinnamon – really savour each mouth full. And if you do get tempted by thanksgiving meals, don’t get disheartened – you have already made a great start by not eating pizzas and not having sugary drinks. Take care and keep in touch :-)

Im hypoglycemic, is this diet ok for me?

    • Sandra

      Reply Reply March 21, 2015

I used to be hypoglycemic too, hope you’ll be able to move past that soon. I’d go straight to stage 3 of the diet and make sure that you have snacks throughout the day and don’t go starving, and you should be fine. But it might be worth checking with a nutritionist if you are concerned. Good luck

Is quinoa ok instead of brown rice for the emergency snack option?

    • Sandra

      Reply Reply April 17, 2015

      Hi Martha,
thanks for your comment. Quinoa is ok if it agrees with you. Try and combine it with greens or salad though. Many Candida sufferers have developed an intolerance to all types of grains even healthy gluten free ones like Quinoa. That happened to me unfortunately. Luckily all those food sensitivities disappear once you re-balance your system.

Thank you for your response Sandra :)
So I shouldn’t mix it with coconut oil and cinnamon as you would with the rice?

Coconut oil and cinnamon are fine, too :)
Full of minerals and keeps your blood sugar constant. Have a great weekend!
