This pizza crust is delicious! Who would have thought that it’s also gluten free and vegan — and therefore easy to digest — a real ‘happy healthy tummy’ food!

Gluten free Pizza Crust
Cook time:
Total time:
Serves: 2
  • 100g (3/4 cup) Tapioca starch
  • 100g (3/4 cup) Gluten free all purpose flour
  • 100g (3/4 cup ground flax seeds (I used dark flax seeds)
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp italian herbs spice mix
  • ¼ tsp garlic granules, tumeric, cayenne, thyme and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1tsp baking soda
  • ½ cup warm water (or enough to form a dough)
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  1. Preheat the oven at 450 f, 190 c, gas mark 5.
  2. Mix the base ingredients together to form a pliable dough. Line a rectangular baking tray with baking paper and spread the pizza dough out on it.
  3. Bake in the oven for 20-25 mins until golden and springy to the to the touch. Here’s my favourite pizza topping recipe.

You can freeze any leftovers — comes in handy when you don’t have time to make a pizza dough.

This pizza crust is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.

It was potluck really because the gluten free pizza that I had meant to try required tons of ground almond and potato starch which I didn’t have. So I improvised and made this. And for some unknown reason it came out tasting fantastic — it’s nice when that happens.
